I enjoyed Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. I had read it as a teenager and read it again recently. Even though a lot of details were forgotten over time, the essential elements were unforgettable.
For me, Uncle Silas was even better. All the traditional elements of a Gothic are in this story. And, of course, there was that everlasting question, "is Uncle Silas good or evil?" I had made my mind up fairly early but our heroine was charged with a mission from her father and the reader needed to find out if she would succeed.
