I would like to recommend the writer Thomas H. Cook. His books are mystery but have lots of gothic elements and he many times has a unexpected twist at the end. The following I recommend: "Breakheart Hill", "Mortal Memory", "The Chatham School Affair" and "Instruments of Night". I think all of the ones I listed will appeal to gothic fans.
