Deanna Raybourn's The dead travel fast - madneccy - 10-27-2012
I read this book a while ago and the location and atmosphere stuck with me. I like the romance development but most of all the isolated rugged Romanian setting. Can anyone please please recommend something similar? The only ones I can come up with are by Eve Silver and I've read those already. I'd love any suggestions.

It sounds interesting, if maybe more Victorian than Gothic. I do like the title.
The Vampire Cameo by Dorothea Niles is similar, as well as the entire Dark Shadows series of novels by Marilyn Ross. There is a newer Dark Shadows novel that was reprinted when the dreadful Johnny Depp movie came out a while back. Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch.
