"Sea Jade" by Phyllis Whitney
#1
Miranda turns to her father's former business partner for help after her father dies. In doing so, she sets off a series of events that endanger her life. Well-written, well-paced. Characters come off quite well despite some having too extreme a dislike for heroine. For connoisseurs of Gothics, the plot may be too predictable but I enjoyed it, nevertheless. I'd give it a "B".

I really enjoyed this book. My library copy was well used and very old (ick). but I enjoyed the story, and the sinister feeling of the book.
