Monique Devereaux Wrote:great ideas Bastet and it sounds like you definitely have the resources and know-how to pull this off. A similar thing is happening with pulp/noir hard boiled type fiction, new works being published in the old 30s-50s tradition of that genre with artwork imitating the early styles (think: Jim Thompson et al).
Hi Monique!
Good luck with finishing your manuscript. I know how tough it can be.
Yes, and I'm glad for the revival. I love retro stuff--even if it's as "retro" as my childhood LOL
And I love the old covers. Since I've moved a lot (most recently to Scotland) I am trying to rebuild my library with books I used to have--along with the same covers. I love the Fawcett/Crest covers of the old P.A. Whitney books, but I'm also trying to grow a pulp fiction collection.
Our cover artist is very versatile and I'd like to have a range of mysteries evocotive of the old style. They can be classic noir or gothic or whatever, or more contemporary--but with the vintage-look covers, if that makes sense!
