Gothics with older men as the hero?

Hi there, I was wondering if any of you know of some good gothics where older men were the heros? I know most gothics the hero is usually in his late 20's or early 30's but was wondering if anyone knew of some where the hero was say 20-30 years or so older than the herione. The women seem to be around 18-20 and I thought it would make a nice romance with say a older man in his 40's or even older. It was not uncommon for a older man to get involved with a much younger woman in those days but I have only read one or two gothics that portray this. Thanks.

I've always thought Mr. Rochester and Max de Winter to be a lot older than the heroine, perhaps because of their previous marriages, but I'm not sure by how much.

Yes, you are right. As far as I know both of them are much older. I forgot to mention in my post that I have read them but was looking for some others along the same line. Thanks.

Have you read Charlotte Bronte's Villette? M. Paul is older too. He's a really interesting character!
